With the agreement reached with ARM - the company provides chips for mobile devices, IBM's cloud services will be able to analyze data from billions of devices connected to the internet.
According to Business Insider, IBM and ARM recently achieved a strategic partnership agreement. Accordingly, the services of IBM cloud computing will be integrated into ARM’s mobile chips serving Internet of Things market.
Currently the technology giants are aiming Internet of Things by attaching chips and sensors to everyday objects (from dishwashers to air conditioning, heating) and connecting them to the Internet.
According to a research by IDC, IoT market values nearly $ 700 billion. ARM is developing very fast in IoT market when the company supplies chips to around 1 trillion devices connected to the internet.
With this agreement, ARM has more cloud services from IBM. That means that anyone who uses ARM chips for IoT devices can easily rent IBM BlueMix to analyze data.
IBM is trying to reach agreements with service providers. One of IBM's partners is TP Vision. Currently the company is using IBM IoT services to control TV content in real time in more than 30 countries.IBM also partnered with Apple, Twitter and Tencent.
